Friday 8th May


 We are in the process of trialling a new texting service, so if we need to let you know of any cancellations or last minute changes to the school day or even reminders of forthcoming events, you will be informed by text. Could you please therefore advise us of any updates to your mobile phone numbers.

As the summer weather is on its way, could you please ensure that your child is sent into school with a hat, named drinks bottle filled with water and a named sun lotion. On sunny day can you please ensure that your child has lotion applied before they come into school.

We had an excellent skipping day on Thursday with Skipping4schools. More challenges are on the way so keep your children skipping.

Many thanks go to Derek Hopper who came into school on Thursday and gave a very interesting talk to the children about the history of Pickhill.

It is SAT's week next week for Year 6 so we wish them all the best and a reminder to be early to bed!


 Friday 27th February


 We have today presented a cheque for £330 to Liz Foster from New Life Baptist Church who has accepted the cheque on Osmond's behalf. A fantastic amount raised so well done everyone!



Friday 12 December


 Thank you to everyone who helped to raise money for Osmond by buying a bag of sweets. We have raised £105 so far. You will able buy sweets on a Friday up until Christmas by sending in the yellow envelope and the sweets are then handed to the children on their way home.

As the colder weather has arrived can you please ensure that the children have hats, gloves and a warm coat. We do like them to get out as much as possible but it can get very cold on the playground. Also, could they have tracksuit bottoms and a sweatshirt for their outside games lesson.

Class 2 went to the Thirsk Schools Cluster Cross Country and everyone did very well. Thomas Moody has gone through to the final – congratulations.

In KS2 we are currently looking at intercultural understanding in French.

Part of this mini topic involved food tasting.

Needless to say, they all enjoyed it.

Sinderby & District Show

On Sunday 14th September the annual Sinderby & District show took part. Pickhill School pupils entered hand writing work and pictures made at school.
